why

interceding for the brokenhearted

"Caring, loving, empowering, sheltering the brokenhearted - this is what I was created for."

This is Mehki. He and his mom came to the safe house right after I first started working there.  I fell in love with both of them instantly.  One day during my internship, The Lord reminded me of this picture and how much love I had in my heart for him.  He told me that one day I would mother thousands of Mehki's and then showed me another picture where I was standing in an open field with thousands of children surrounding me.

This is what I was created for.
Isaiah 1: 16-17
“Wash and make yourselves clean.
Remove the evil of your deeds from my sight.
Cease to do evil,
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Defend the oppressed,
Defend the orphan,
Plead for the widow.”

This is why I'm stepping out of the normal 8-5 routine to set my heart before The Lord and listen.
Listen to what He has to say about me and those around me. He will guide me to minister to the brokenhearted, to those down on their luck and help them find their hope in Jesus and their life again.
He created me to pray for them, find them, shelter them, love them.  Over the next few months I will position myself before The Lord to find out how He wants to accomplish the dream He has set upon my heart.  In the meantime, I know that He has plans and people that will cross my path and I will be there, ready and waiting to introduce my Jesus to them.
